A healthy diet also means enough food for everyone
Luckily, by eating a healthy diet you actually encourage food production.
The production of meat huge of farmland to grow fodder crops to feed the animals. Producing 10 kg of pork the same land as producing 240 kg of vegetables. Every person on Earth could have enough to eat if we in the rich part of the world ate less meat.
If you want to be healthy and at the same time a use of nature then:
- Eat green and whole food: Five of fruit and vegetables a day and a variety of cereal products will cover your daily need for fibres, vitamins and minerals
- Eat products of the season: preferably produced with good farming practices (that means less and you avoid pesticide residues)
- Eat less meat: in a healthy diet you need less than 75 g of meat a day.
